Swaroopanand Saraswathi, Bagheshwar Dham and The Jaipur Dialogues




The period following 2014 is touted as the age of Hindutva reniassance and rightly so!  Now what appears to be all pervasive, the undercurrents were visible long back, if one chose to look for it. 

I of course, did not look for it back in 2008 when I had joined Facebook. I did not even look for it back when Shri Vajpayee was at the helm and I felt proud of my Prime Minister. However, I know long back that HIndu society was in seige. There were many enemies waiting to devour people who went about saying  they were “Spiritual but not religious!”. I could see that people were always speaking about how Hindus were treated like second class citizens in their own country where they were a majority. I certainly was one of the first who believed in this. I would discuss this with relatives and friends. Before 2014, I was actively campaigning for the BJP on social media, especially Shri Narendra Modi as I felt another term under a “secular” regime would affect our very survival. 

Then 2014 happened. I even went out with a friend to watch the Spiderman movie of Andrew Garfield. So elated was I. Since then more and more people are climbing abroad the bandwagon. A bandwagon, that I had climbed long long ago. 



"The Jaipur Dialogues" 



Fast forward to 2023. It is a time and age dominated by social media. Youtube has many many channels supporting Hindutva. Now there is a plethora of information. One such channel is “The Jaipur dialogies” headed by Shri Sanjay Dixit. I read his book “Unbreaking India” before I hit upon Jaipur dialogues. 




He was quite vocal about Hindutva and was quite against anti Nationals including Jihadis. All this made me a big fan. Then I started seeing some posts from Jaipure Dialogues about “Bagheshwar Dham”.  Initially I was also in awe of the person as Sanjay Dixit used to speak highly about him. Then I saw an interview of his on “Aap ki Adalat” by Rajat Sharma and I was aghast!

Rajat Sharma cornered him on a few questions 

R: “You used very crude and lowly words while describing Shri Tukaram Maharaj! How can you insult a saint like that?”
B:”My language is crude. This is how people speak in my native place, but I meant no disrespect”

R:” To Shirdi Sai Baba, who is worshipped by millions all over the world. you said “ye toh chand pasha nikla” (He turned out to be Chand Pasha!) How can you insult a saint like this
B: “ I merely repeated what was written by a journalist. I think the journalist who wrote it ought to be questioned!”

R :” Then do you respect Sai Baba?”
B: “Of course I do, as a Saint! I respect all saints. Why should I have anything against him”

I must admit that this was a bit disheartening and rumblings of unease started within about both Bagheshwar Dham and “The Jaipur Dialogues” 

Yet again, while I was looking for a video on Baba on youtube, I ran into a video of Bagheshwar dham. Someone asked him “Can I keep Shirdi Sai Baba murthi in my Pooja room”

Bagheshwar Dham replied “Now you have placed me in a very difficult situation. People satiate their thirst in different places. If Shirdi Sai Baba satiates your thirst then so be it…But..” he paused for effect “ Having seen what …inaudible…I feel you should not keep in Pooja room!”

Then today morning, in the Jaipur dialogies Telegram channel, I receive the following image from  “The jaipur Dialogues”











The "Congress Swami" 



The argument put forth is that Shankaracharya said Shirdi Sai Baba is not God. The Shankaracharya in question, is Swaropanand Saraswathi, who had pronounced that Hindus should not worship Shridi Sai Baba. 

However who is this Swaroopananda Saraswathi. If you dig a little deeper, this man was a known Congress Supporter. He was even popular as “Congress” Swami. Innumerable are the images spanning the internet where he is seen with prominent congress leaders. He was virulently against VHP, RSS, Bajarang Dal and probably the BJP too. Now such being the case, and such being the assosciation of the Swami with an Anti Hindu party, should we trust this Swami. Should we trust someone parroting him (Namely Bagheshwar dham). Should we trust someone singing peans for Bagheshwar Dham (The Jaipur Dialogues)

Innumerable number of times have I seen Sanjay Dixit and the Jaipur dialogues criticise the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval. Is the Jaipur Dialogies itself trying to sow seeds of discontent in Hindus and break up Hindu votes as far as BJP is concerned. This I do not know, and perhaps is my far fetched conspiracy theory.

But in criticising Shridi Sai Baba, both Bagheshwar Dham and “The Jaipur Dialogues” have displayed their ignorance for all to see. 

Today I unsubscribed from “The Jaipur Dialogues”.  By criticising someone who in the Datta Parampara (Tradition of Lord Dattatreya worship) is treated as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, they have merely displayed their ignorance and arrogance. 

I will come up with content to counter all their silly claims by God’s grace. I am sorry I wasted countless hours listening to Jaipur dialogues. Any true Hindu will thereby profit by not listening to such B.S content. It will not help in achieving either Dharma, Artha, Kama and definitely not Moksha.

I remember reading a story by Leo Tolstoy called Ivan Illych’s death. A perfectly normal and healthy individual, get’s injured while doing some house hold chore. His health worsens and eventually Ivan Illych dies. At his funeral, the people believe it is something that happened to Ivan Illych only.
